Baptism

November 10

Ready for baptism?

Baptism is a holy and joyful event – a public act that proclaims your salvation. Baptism is the outward expression of an internal decision to place your faith and hope in Jesus.

Jesus told his followers, “go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19) and as believers we follow this ordinance and baptize those who have come to faith in Jesus.

First Free is affiliated with the EFCA, and we believe that a person is saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone. From the EFCA: “The Lord Jesus mandated two ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which visibly and tangibly express the gospel. Though they are not the means of salvation, when celebrated by the church in genuine faith, these ordinances confirm and nourish the believer.” (Learn more here.)

Baptism is not necessary for salvation, but it is an act of obedience and an important step in the faith journey of a believer. If you haven’t been baptized since giving your life to Jesus, we encourage you to prayerfully consider doing so.

Our next baptism celebration will be on November 10, 2019. We will be baptizing believers in both the 9:00 & 10:45 am Sunday services.

The cut-off date for registrations is November 7th. If you register after November 7th, you will be scheduled for the next baptism.
