Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) II Timothy 2:15
Awana meets Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:15 pm
from mid-September through the end of April.
Mission Statement
Children’s Midweek Ministry exists to promote:
- The development of Christian Character
- Training in and the encouragement of spiritual habits
- Outreach and service. These goals are to be accomplished within an atmosphere of fun, friendship and fellowship.
The Cubbie Program is designed for three to five year olds; Sparks is for kindergarten through second grade; Clubbers include third through sixth graders who are further divided by gender and grad (third and fourth grades are together; fifth and sixth grades are together).
The evening includes Bible memory and handbook time, games, and large group Council time. In order to grow into “approved workmen” of God, the children work with some 90 adults and teens that help them learn the basics of salvation and Christian growth.
The Awana Missions program includes collecting food and other non-perishable food items for Sunshine Missions and collecting toys for a local aid organization. Another outreach aspect of Awana called Adopt-A-Club provides financial help to international churches that otherwise could not afford to have an Awana Program.
