The J’s Crew 6th Grade Ministry offers classes during both services
each Sunday morning from early September through the first week in June.
Sixth graders are in a unique life stage of moving away from childhood and yet not fully teenagers. At the same time, our sixth graders are facing circumstances and situations that will challenge their faith and commitment to follow God. We believe that sixth grade is a pivotal year of transition. It can also be a year of dynamic spiritual growth.
We believe children learn best in a relational ministry with adults who care about them and can serve as role models. We have incorporated our first and second hour teachers to work together as a team. Teamwork will help us to understand the needs of each child; and to encourage and develop their relationship with God and their peers.
Ministry goals for J's Crew are three-fold:
1. That each child will come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and
Lord of their lives.
2. That each child will be encouraged and challenged to grow
towards spiritual maturity - Ephesians 4:13-15
3. That each child will maintain open, growing and vibrant
relationships with parents and peers and ministry team members.
These goals are to be achieved through solid, scriptural based Bible study; focused topical units, guest speakers, weekend retreat, large and small group activities, service projects, special projects and FUN, while being discipled by the J's Crew Team.
