PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE

First Free believes that a wedding is a sacred act of worship. We desire to be involved with weddings only when we can confidently pronounce God’s blessing upon the union. Our wedding guidelines, established by our Elder Board, apply both to the involvement of our pastors in a wedding and the use of our church facilities (see below for a list of the guidelines). They are intended to help our pastoral staff make some of the difficult decisions that arise.

First Free has purposely chosen not to be a “wedding factory”. Believing that premarital preparation is vital to the long-term health of your marriage, our church and its leadership are committed to helping couples who are Preparing for Marriage. Our commitment begins with you, the engaged couple. Our hope is that, at the conclusion of Preparing for Marriage, you will feel better prepared to have a marriage that honors Jesus Christ and lasts a lifetime!
